I arranged lodging prior to my arrival in Киев. I stayed in Kristina's flat on Перова for my first few weeks. Kristina is college educated and quite fluent in English. She helped me with my nascent understanding of Russian.
Kristina was taking business courses. Here she is for her graduation ball. Isn't she gorgeous?
While at Kristina's I did some local grocery shopping because I had some kitchen privileges and I didn't want to always eat out. I found this bottle of Budweiser. Budweiser is, of course, named after the town in the Czech Republic where it originally was and still is brewed.
It was rather expensive and it seems silly to buy an import beer in such a beer producing place as Ukraine. But, it was delicious! It is nothing like commercial American beer.
It's not always about sex, drugs and rock n roll. There is plenty of room for fine women, good beer, motorcycles and electric blues.
